Get to know me!
Hello Future Teachers! My name is Emily B. and I, like many of you, am an aspiring teacher. I am a graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, continuing my studies to become an Elementary Educator by earning a Master's of Arts in Teaching. I wanted to create this blog to open a space for communication and support in the teaching community. Below is a little bit more about me, where I'm from, and what I like to do!

I was born and raised in rural North Carolina. I am proud to come from a bi-cultural home, with strong roots in Puerto Rico. Working with the Latine community is a large motivating force for me, and something I hope to focus on throughout my career. I first dreamt of becoming a teacher when I was in the second-grade. While my career interests have changed as I've grown older, my passion to become an educator returned when I was a senior in high school. Inspired by multiple outstanding teachers, and motivated by my disappointment over educational inequities, I knew teaching was the path for me. I decided to attend UNC-Chapel Hill, majoring in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Education. I plan to earn my M.A.T. at UNC-Chapel Hill in May of 2023. I am excited to meet and connect with other aspiring teachers! Feel free to contact me through the site at any time with comments, questions, or stories of your own!
